Aimee McDonald-Anderson (info@movement-center.com) received her BFA in Dance from the University of Michigan. In 1997 she was in the first group to go through full Stott pilates training at Equilibrium Studio in Bloomfield Hills Michigan. After teaching pilates there full time for a year and a half, she opened The Movement Center in Ann Arbor.

She fell in love with Gyrotonic®training in 2000 and traveled around the country to pursue Gyrotonic®and Gyrokinesis®training and certification. She is a qualified Gyrotonic®and Gyrokinesis®pre-trainer and enjoys sharing her love of the work with future teachers. She has studied Gyrotonic®therapeutic applications with Paul Horvath, and continually strives to deepen her understanding and approach to the work through numerous workshops and courses.

Founder and Artistic Director of Terpsichore's Kitchen Dance Theatre, Aimee continues to present her choreography and to produce showcases of independent choreographers' work. Annually she produces Dancing in Summer at Ann Arbor's performance Network.

Heather Glidden (heather@movement-center.com) first studied Pilates in Colorado when her ballet teacher promised that it would make her a better dancer. She went on to receive a B.A. in Dance Studies from Grinnell College. She has studied Pilates for 14 years and has taught it for 5 years. She is fully certified in all levels and all pieces of equipment in Stott Pilates. She discovered Gyrotonic®and Gyrokinesis®methodologies in 2004 and has been studying them ever since. Through her teaching she seeks to help people of all ability levels lead happier, healthier lives.

When she isn't teaching, she enjoys performing with local dance groups, going on walks with her dog, and working as a volunteer web designer.

Josefin Ekström (josefin@movement-center.com) holds a certification in mat and equipment from Stott Pilates. She has trained with instructors worldwide and is familiar with several Pilates techniques. Josefin has a background as a competitive gymnast and she got in touch with Pilates when she was in rehab for a back injury.

As an instructor, Josefin emphasizes proper form and body awareness. Her own affection for movement is contagious, which makes her teaching challenging as well as fun. She truly believes that Pilates, and other movement techniques, are necessary components of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
